Bright, Firm, and Protected: The Role of Vitamin C in Skincare

Vitamin C should be a vital component to your daily skincare regime. It is a powerful antioxidant that assists the cells in fighting off free radicals that damage our skins natural Elastin fibres and Collagen proteins. Damage to these components of the skin result in premature aging and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. Vitamin C plays a pivotal role in the production of not only Collagen, but maintains the skins elasticity, firmness and structure.

By stimulating collagen synthesis within the skin, we can promote a more plump, youthful appearance on the skin. In addition to assisting the skin in slowing down the loss of this protein in the skin, Vitamin C also allows for overall improvement in the skins texture.

Vitamin C can improve darkened areas on the skin, also known as hyperpigmentation, including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and age spots, by brightening the skin, and evening out the skin tone, as well as act as a protection to the skins cells by shielding the skin from the harmful effects of UV damage. This is achieved by Vitamin C inhibiting melanin synthesis by slowing down the activity of an enzyme known as tyrosinase.

Although Vitamin C is not in any way a substitute for sun protection, Vitamin C, paired with the correct sun protection, is the ultimate protection against the effects of UVA and UVB damage on in the skin.

Incorporating products such as the SkincareRx C-Fix Crystals, which will amp up any serum by delivering Vitamin C into the skin in its most concentrated form, to rejuvenate the skin while fighting the effects of aging and pigmentation, or TheraVine’s Anti-Wrinkle Skin Booster which not only smoothes out the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles, but also enhances collagen synthesis and inhibits melanin synthesis.

NEWS VIA THE GRAPEVINE - The whole truth and nothing but the trust about face oils

Written by Theravine on May 28th, 2018.      0 comments

The use of face oils has recently taken the beauty industry by storm but the reality is that TheraVine™ has known the powerful replenishing properties of these oils since launching in 2004. That’s right, we’ve been a step ahead all this time!

THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH ABOUT FACE OILS

  1. As the season changes, face oils can be changed or incorporated to help the skin adjust to temperature changes. If your skin tends to become dry, sensitive and irritated in winter, a face oil may just be the answer.
  2. Face oils can strengthen the skin’s lipid barrier which in turn makes the skin less vulnerable to environmental assault and helps the skin’s ability to heal itself.
  3. Face oils are much more effective in addressing dry skin concerns as they are far better at maintaining skin hydration levels than a water-based moisturiser can ever be.
  4. On the other hand, contrary to the popular assumption, good quality face oils will not clog pores or make the skin shiny as they absorb quickly and leave the skin with a radiant glow. For this reason, even oily skin’s should be using face oils.

Ageing and environmental factors can slow down the production of skin secretions responsible for the natural moisture barrier of the skin. This in turn can cause other concerns ranging from dehydration to loss of skin elasticity and everything in between. Preserving the skin’s moisture barrier is key for optimal skin functioning.

TheraVine™ has based its entire product range on the application of its skin condition specific aromatherapy

Pinotage Face Oils prior to the application of actives found in our face specialities or treatment creams to form the first segment of the powerful

TheraVine™ Duo Concept due to the proven penetration benefits of essential oils through the skin.

What happens within the skin?

The essential oils have small molecules and are similar to the natural oil your skin produces. This means that your skin can recognise them as natural, so they penetrate deeply and effectively, without leaving a greasy feel.  They act as a carrier to assist other active ingredients to penetrate even deeper, while stimulating the production of ATP.  ATP acts as the skin’s own power station, providing energy to the cells so they can function optimally.

What else is amazing about these Phyto-Chemistry Multi-Active Oils?

• Pure plant concentrates consisting of hundreds of active hydrogen molecules, working in synergy by effectively transferring living energy to your skin.

• Each perfectly blended, silky textured plant elixir contains only the purest ingredients to enhance natural beauty.
